Other fees
- VFS biometrics charge if requested.
- Medical tests, paid to the panel clinic, for longer stays or applicants aged 75+.
Processing time: Half of applications are decided within about a month and most within 2 months; October to February is slower.
Documents checklist
- Passport valid 6+ months, all stamped pages and old passports
- Recent passport-style photo
- PAN card and Aadhaar
- Bank statements (6 months) and salary slips
- ITRs or Form 16 (2–3 years)
- Employer leave letter, or GST and business papers
- Day-wise itinerary, flight reservation and hotel bookings
- Invitation letter and host's status proof if visiting family
- Cover letter explaining the trip and your ties to India

Before you fly
- The fee rose from AUD 200 on 1 July 2026 and is reviewed every July.
- The fee is not refunded if the visa is refused.
- Each family member pays separately, though applications can be grouped.
- Health insurance is strongly recommended.
- Book non-refundable travel only after the visa is granted.
