Other fees
- Biometrics CAD 85 per person, CAD 170 per family.
- Biometrics are generally valid for 10 years.
- VFS service and passport courier charges are extra.
Processing time: IRCC's estimate for applications from India was about 29 days in September 2026, down from 83 days in February. Times are updated weekly, and the clock effectively starts once biometrics are given.
Documents checklist
- Passport valid at least 6 months beyond travel, plus old passports
- IRCC application forms and family information
- Digital photo
- Bank statements (4–6 months) and ITRs
- Employer letter, leave approval and salary slips, or business documents
- Itinerary or invitation letter from your Canadian host with their status proof
- Purpose-of-visit letter
- Proof of ties to India
